People have been banned for "botting" while farming areas bots usually farm.

I think most, if not all, of them contact support and they review the situation and revoke the ban. Most players, even running the same build and farm, will not act the same as a bot.

creeped me out when i started working on my sin/monk when it hit me that if i farmed like i used to over the sumer9almost 24/7) then theres a good chance i could be mistaken for a bot not a bored teen pulling an all nighter feather farm to buy something.

OT: No, I am not worried about getting banned. I used to occasionally /dance every now and then when I ran into a zone to farm, but I figure that the fact that I always do things a little differently proves me to not be a bot.

I farm in elite armor no matter what. So I'm pretty sure I won't seem like a bot, unless bots bot in elite armor.

I was mainly referring to 55 monks in Bergen Hot Springs. (Optimally with starter armor.) I farm several areas on other classes with elite armor and don't feel paranoid about that one bit. It's mainly that I was worried there are folks sitting in Hot Springs erroneously reporting others.

I appreciate all the responses.

ANYONE that plays a monk and is in Bergen Hot Springs I report now just to be on the safe side. If you're not a bot you shouldn't have anything to worry about. Although I've never been a fan of that gimmick 55 monk build. So one side of me hopes you get banned for that opinion alone.

Ban all the gimmicks and we'll have a great nice game again with fair players and players who don't cheat or exploit the mechanics of the game.

I hear ya. One side of me hopes you get banned for abusing the reporting system by reporting ANYONE that plays a monk that you see in Bergen Hot Springs "just to be on the safe side."

I agree that the 55 build is a gimmick but it's hardly a cheat or exploit. I understand your viewpoint I just disagree with the terminology you use.

Nope.

Main cash flow has been farming on a 55 and trading pets often involving large and repetitive transactions.

I have no fear of repetitive actions and give Anet the responsibility of segregating me from the botters.Has worked so far.

No need to be fearful, even if you got banned a clearly written email would solve the issue.

Honestly, it still isn't even remotely hard to avoid being labeled a bot, even if you actually are botting. The advent of Dhuum didn't stop botters. It just stopped script kiddies. (Bots actually take some effort to get working now, but not enough to be a bother.)

Every time you load into Bergen after farming, go to the npc's Andar, Dannel, Penelope and Josef so that it looks like you are doing the hot springs murders quest. Bots aren't programmed to do quests, so you'll stand out from all the monk bots who run to the merchant and then to the signpost.
